Shore Dives Malta:
Cirkewwa......The tugboat "Rozi" at 30 meters/numerous swimthru's/a statue of the "Madonna" (no not the pop star!)/ a galleon anchor/archway/a signpost (I wonder who put that there!)
Valletta......At Marsamaxxett, Destroyer "Maori" at 13 meters/Kalkara Creek, freighter "Margit" (known locally as the "Odele", 3000 tons - dirty real British wreck dive)
Qawra......Deep cave at 34 metres/shallow open top cave/very pretty shallows / memorial
Marsascala......Zonqor Point, 2 x small tugboats "St Michael"+ "No.10" at 20 metres
Zurrieq.....Blue Grotto, Gas tanker between 11 and 33 metres "El Faroud", 113 metres long, 6 storys at the stern, good access/ gentle wall/vertical cave
Mtahleb......Outrageous depth/swim thru's and caves/40 vehicles thrown over the cliffs/very dramatic + horrendous steps to climb up and down!
Selmun............4x4 exhilarating access / shallow and scenic off St
Paul's Islands / wreck of small ferry "Hanini" / some remains of block
ship destroyer "HMS Kingston" / parts of Beaufighter WW2 bomber
Gozo:
Dwerja.....the famous Blue Hole/Crocodile rock/Fungus rock/The garden/Coral cave /Inland Sea (deep arch tunnel)...nice walls and depth
Reqqa/Marsalforne.....wall dive/ large caves/Bottle Cave - bottom at 57, top at 37metres!/double arch/pretty shallows
Xlendi......shallow diving/cave thru to outside of bay/pretty outcrops
Xatt-la Mar..... ferry "Xlendi" 1100 tons, upside down at 40 metres/nice drop-off and shallows
Boat Dives :
Ferry "Imperial Eagle", former River Thames and Gozo ferry sunk at 44 metres/statue of St. Paul
Submarine "HMS Stubborn" sunk wartime as Aztec/sonar target at 50 metres
Blenheim bomber upside down off south of island at 40 metres
WW2 aircraft engine at 40 metres off cliffs at Hal Far
Filfla........small off-shore island / dramatic shallow and DEEP (50
metres+++) reefs / swim-thru's and caves / anchor at 28 metres / former RAF
practice target site with numerous remains of exploded and unexploded bombs
and rockets / (government permission required to dive at site)
